thread of open mindedness

nanu nanu, earthlings:

  • Where is Karl Rove and what was he thinking about this weekend? Murray Waas is always good for updates...will there be one soon?
  • What's the news from Iraq today? Juan Cole and the war in context already have Monday posts up.
  • John Roberts?.....check out this article in Monday's New York Times. Must read....with "infuriating story that makes Dems look bad" alert given.

  • Idle open thread question: Why do we bloggers so often move in a pack? Is it because we're news junkies with typewriters?

    Dunno, you tell me.

    • Good question .... where is news about Rove?

I've always enjoyed evacuating my bowels (figuratively speaking, of course) on that fat prick.

    • i always assumed it was because blogging - much like the daily show - is largely still reactive to the media, as an unruly horde of footnotes and marginal commentaries. we're slowly starting to do more than that, but the tides of the blogosphere are still largely pulled by the moon of the mighty wurlitzer more often than not. one of the things i like about what you've done with k/o is how it seems more rooted in actual life and experience, and the issues they bring up. rapid response and debunking duty will always be important, but there's a lot more talking we need to be doing if we're to build a real movement here (and i think we are, if a bit haltingly and below most people's radar).
