blog troubles

My computer would not display this blog for two days....and I was at work where I have no access.

Argh. I apologize. What horrible timing.

If anyone knows html and sees something I am doing that caused this...let me know. I have an old Mac and am not the most elegant template hacker. Blogger has been down for maintenance almost once a day for a week now...and maybe the changes they are making affect my ancient browser.

I don't know. The only change I've made is adding a link in the sidebar.

Things seem to be working this AM. Maybe it was temporary?

1. I was unable to access a number of "second tier" blogspot sites this weekend. I could get Atrios, FDL, and maybe a few others I can't remember right now--but not k/o, sasetc, or the Cartel. Perhaps some blogspot blogs are more equal than others.

2. Last night and early this morning, k/o was showing up as a bunch of plain text css/html looking gibberish. My guess is that you botched a template modification. Seems to be fixed now. A valuable lesson in the importance of backing up.

3. Off-topic. Sometimes I wish I carried a tape recorder around with me. It was around Fitzmas and I don't remember who I was talking to--probably some people at work. I do remember this though and would swear to the paraphrase under oath: I said, "This CIA-agent-outing business will be glossed over by the press. Nobody cares. About the only thing I can think of that might wake the press up is if Bush--personally, on-camera or before a live studio audience--took out a gun and shot someone. And even then, it would probably end up being the other guy's fault."

I don't think it's you. And blogger is trying to work out the kinks. But I am able to view you just fine now.

As far as some blogspot blogs more equal than others, I know there was a time when blogger would work on those who had a *paid* account over a free account first. And even when they stopped accepting payments, they still followed that rule for those that had the paid account.

Glad to see you back KO. I looked for you yesterday and got an error message and thought you might have pieced out.

(Heh). Sorry. I'm glad you're here.

Have noticed glitches with almost every Blogspot blog I visit lately.

I have a serious suggestion I'd like you to consider.

Could I interest you into moving over to Typepad? It would be an honor and a pleasure to sponsor you for a year's subscription.

Please think about it, k/o.

It really would be an honor :-)
