President Bush glossed over Katrina and Dick Cheney
Like they didn't really exist.
Hard to do.

He promised to fix
Social Security, Health Care, and Energy Policy
And no one believed him.

They kicked Cindy Sheehan out for wearing a t-shirt
Which is stupid
on so many levels.

Justice Samuel Alito looked
Really, really happy
And so did Mrs. Alito.

I wonder how many people
who called about the filibuster
will call about this?

Well, I didn't call about the filibuster. I'd told Specter's office what I thought about Alito awhile back and had put in my two cents about he sort of confirmation hearing I expected to see. Asking him (of all people) to join the filibuster--well, it just seemed like a waste of a phone call.

And Santorum? He's hopeless. Nowadays, his office doesn't even send me form letters acknowledging the receipt (and subsequent ignoring) of my communications. I've basically given up him. He is an unresponsive, unpersuadable jackass. And he "knows" he can win elections without any votes from PA-2.

(Yes, yes. I have a bad attitude. A republic if you can keep it, eternal vigilence, all that stuff. It's just, we're talking about Santorum. The man truly is hopeless.)

Anyway. Here in PA-2, we are blessed with a mostly-sensible Representative: the Honorable Chaka Fattah. He usually votes the right way without much encouragement. So I tend to leave him alone. That said, thanks to the Kid's subtle shaming, I just put in a call about the budget bill. You know, just in case.

If he votes with the Republicans on this one, I'll be beyond surprised.
